Metro: Best Contribution to Conserving Cultural Heritage

A Stay at Ewangan Maasai Village

Ewangan Maasai village was established in October 2012 with the mission of elevating the living standard of the community through employment, charging guests to stay in their village, selling their artefacts and jewellery directly to visitors and so forth.

The EWANGAN MAASAI VILLAGE HOMESTAY is situated only 2 kilometres from the Maasai Mara Game Reserve. The Village site attracts foreign tourists from different parts of the world to stay in the village, to live with the Maasai people to learn and experience the Maasai culture, The location of the Village is only 500 meters from the main road to Sekenani main gate to Maasai mara game reserve.

While staying at the village, you get to enjoy the following activities with the Maasai: Mountain hiking, nature walks, bird watching, visiting community projects and schools, cattle herding, milking cows, collecting firewood, fetching water and so forth. At night you get to sing and dance with the locals after having a fabulous day doing safaris in one of the best National Parks in Africa—Maasai Mara National Reserve. In other words, guests get to experience the typical lifestyle of the Maasai.
